The services offered by our department are dedicated to all private and non-private users who need radiological investigations for animals
Direct radiographic examinations
X-ray of the skull (Mandible and Maxilla, Temporomandibular joint, Nasal and paranasal cavities, Tympanic bullae), X-ray of the limbs, X-ray of the spine, X-ray of the chest, X-ray of the abdomen.
Ultrasound examination
in B-mode, Doppler Mode and with contrast agent of the abdomen, neck, eye, muscles, tendons and male and female genitals; eco-assisted interventional maneuvers.
COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY EXAMS
Of the skull, spine, limbs and joints, chest, abdomen and total body; CT angiography, urography and myelo-CT studies; CT-guided interventional maneuvers.
Contrast X-ray
Digestive: esophagography, gastrography, transit, enema; Urinary: urography, cystography, urethrography; Spine: myelography, epidurography.
Consulting
RX and Computed Tomography exams (N.B. the studies object of the consultancy must expressly be in DICOM format).
How to access
- All patients visited by the various specialists at the Teaching University Veterinary Hospital (OVUD) of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production can access the services.
- Outpatients who are seen in private clinics can also access the Centre’s services. In this case, a written prescription from the referring veterinarian is required, specifying the clinical question or diagnostic suspicion and the type of Diagnostic Imaging test to which the patient will have to undergo. In the event that tests requiring sedation or general anesthesia are prescribed, the conduct of the study will be scheduled after consultation and/or visit to the OVUD anesthesiologists.
