Direct radiographic examination immediately cranial to the diaphragmatic pillars, between the thoracic aorta and the caudal vena cava, shows a soft tissue/liquid-like density opacity with indistinct outlines.
Differential diagnoses: Lung mass (neoplasm/granuloma), hiatal hernia, diaphragm tumors
After administration of the baryta paste, at the level of the precardial esophageal tract, there are multiple images of “bubble” minus associated with deformation of the dorsal aspect of the gastric fundus which appears partly elongated in the direction of the gastroesophageal junction.
Finding compatible with sliding gastric hiatal hernia.
